The family relatives descending from the Gemayel family of Lebanon.

 

​Many Gemayel families left Lebanon in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, and settled in many cities, in the USA, Mexico City, Brazil, and other areas of Latin America. 

 

Once the family members arrived in their new countries, immigration authorities changed the Gemayel name to other spellings. The most prevalent is Jamail in the USA, but other versions, such as Jamiel in Brazil, are popular as well.​

 

The original Gemayel family can be traced back to Stephen Gemayel in the 1800’s in the mountains of Lebanon, near the town of Bikfaya.

The majority of the Jamail family lives in Texas, primarily Houston, but can be found in many locations around the world.  We welcome all of our descendants to join us for a family reunion.​

 

Our family’s religious views are primarily Catholic and most Maronite churches around the world hold a deep connection with our family.
